Litecoin Core Policy Proposal and 350M LiteForge Txs
Community discussions opened on a Litecoin Core policy proposal while the LiteForge testnet reached 350 million transactions.
Week of Built from 13 filings
This week in the LitVM ecosystem, community members began discussing a policy alignment proposal on the upstream Litecoin Core repository. On the testnet side, LitVM reported that LiteForge crossed 350 million processed transactions. Ecosystem discussions also focused on upcoming decentralized finance tooling and the relationship between base-layer stability and rollup execution.
Litecoin Core Policy Proposal
Discussions surfaced around a policy request submitted to the primary Litecoin Core repository. @circle_crypto called on community members to review and discuss the item on GitHub, stating that the proposal does not involve a soft fork, hard fork, or consensus change, and would not require all nodes to adopt a new default. While noting that the request is not strictly required for LitVM V2, @circle_crypto stated that it would be helpful for implementation.
LitVM later thanked participants for engaging with issue #1112 on GitHub. LitVM described the submission as a policy alignment with Bitcoin Core designed to benefit the wider ecosystem without altering consensus rules.
Testnet Metrics and Ecosystem Tooling
Activity on the LiteForge testnet reached a new benchmark this week. LitVM announced that LiteForge had processed 350 million transactions to date.
In ecosystem application developments, LitVM highlighted Omega Network, characterizing the project as a prediction DEX and DeFi aggregator designed for LitVM. Separately, @circle_crypto noted ongoing conversations surrounding decentralized stablecoins and potential synergies across UTXO and Scrypt-based networks.
Base-Layer Reliability and Execution Layers
Commentary this week also centered on the operational division between Litecoin's base chain and LitVM. @jay_lits of LiteStrategy argued that institutional interest relies on the fifteen-year track record of Litecoin's base layer, while LitVM introduces smart contract execution without modifying base-layer rules. LitVM amplified these comments, pointing to the combination of base-chain durability and secondary-layer utility.
